Instructions for Use

Line Graphs is an interactive activity that allows your child to use a broken line graph to identify trends.

To use Line Graphs, click the "data" button and select a topic, such as temperature, journey, height, or bath time. A line graph appears in the workspace. See if you can identify any trends in the data. Try another topic and identify more trends.

You can click the button with two yellow bars to see the data in chart form.

To enter original data, click the "reset" button. Enter the title of the graph and label the horizontal and vertical axes. Select points on the horizontal axis and drag them to the desired location. The data will be reflected on the chart. Click the button with the squiggly red line to include decimal numbers that are less than one in the vertical-axis range. To change the range on the vertical axis, click the numeric button beside the "data" button. Click the up arrow to increase the range on the vertical axis, and the down arrow to decrease the range. Then click the numeric button again.

Click the "quit" button to exit the program.
