Instructions for UseFraction Pieces allows your child to use concrete materials to model fractions that are equivalent. To use Fraction Pieces, click on either the circle or square radio button to determine the shape. Click on a block button to add a piece to the workspace. Click the 'Show Labels' checkbox to see the size of the fraction block being added to the workspace. Drag the block inside the outline of the whole shape and it will snap into place. Click on the coloured block buttons to change the colour. Click on the 'Whole' checkboxes to show or hide the outline of the whole. These outlines show the relationship between fraction pieces and the whole. To remove a block, drag it to the trash can. To remove all the blocks, click on the 'Clear' button.
Fraction Fireworks prompts your child to represent the same fraction in different ways. To use Fraction Fireworks, study the question. Use the up and down buttons beside the denominator or numerator, to make the question true. Click the red button to see if the answer is correct. |
