Instructions for Use

Quotient Guess and Check prompts students to practice estimating decimal quotients.

To use Quotient Guess and Check, print the activity sheet. Have students estimate the closest quotient in a division problem.

Have students play a game Quotient Guess and Check with one or more partners. Division cards are stacked face down. One student turns over a card, and each student estimates the quotient of the problem shown. Students write down their estimates and then use a calculator to find the exact answer. The student with the closest estimate earns one point. When there is a tie, the tied students each earn one point. Play proceeds in a clockwise direction. The student with the most points after ten rounds wins the game.
