Instructions for UseBase Ten Blocks allows students to regroup decimal numbers to tenths and hundreds. To use Base Ten Blocks, click the place value backdrop to decimals. Click on a block and drag it into the workspace. Select a block by clicking on it. Once selected, the block can be moved to any location on the workspace. To remove a block, drag it to the recycling bin. Click on the tools on the top panel to select and drag, rotate, lasso blocks to group them, break larger blocks into the next size down, or glue smaller blocks to form the next size up. To regroup blocks, click on the hammer, and then on the block in the workspace. The red hundreds block, will regroup into 10 blue tens blocks. The blue tens block, will regroup into 10 green ones blocks.
Interactive Calculator allows students to practice finding decimals quotients. To use the Interactive Calculator, start by pressing any number - try 6. This number will appear in the window of the calculator. Press the divide button on the calculator, and press 4. Press the ' =' button on the calculator to show the answer. |
